The Jersey City Brew Club is hosting its 4th Annual Homebrew Contest next Saturday, as part of the Jersey City Theater Center‘s Artoberfest. There will be arts, music, beer, and food all day!
We’ll have beer on tap from Flying Fish, NJ Beer Co, Victory, and Anchor. The JCBC People’s Choice tasting will go from 3-6PM, with a bunch of beer made by local homebrewers. The Thirsty Quaker will be serving two beers:
Double Simcoe IPA – brewed during our August 17th class – 8.3% abv, lots and lots of Simcoe hops.
Wretched Troll IPA – brewed with all the leftover stuff we collect at The Thirsty Quaker. 9.1% abv, possibly the most bitter beer I’ve ever brewed, due to the high amounts of hops involved.
And we *might* have a Porter-Weiss that was brewed during the 9/14 class. This was an experimental beer that is half porter, half weissbier. We will keg it and see if it is ready, but it may have to wait for another day.
