Czech Pastry & Beer Pairing – September 18, 6-8pm

Every Thursday we offer tastings of different beers at The Thirsty Quaker, but this week is something special. Our friends from Mabel & Betty’s Bakery make awesome baked treats, and they’re bringing along their fantastic Metanky – it’s a Czech pastry made with sauerkraut and cracklings, passed down through the generations. It’s a salty, savory, crispy snack that goes perfect with beer!  Here’s what we’ll be trying alongside it:

Pilsner Urquell – the original Czech Pilsner! Spicy and crisp.

Captain Lawrence Kolsch – a classic style from Cologne, Germany. Crisp and refreshing

Aecht Schlenkerla Helles – a light, Bavarian Helles made with 100% smoked malt
